Hyderabad: Yet another incident of an insect being discovered in the food sold by IKEA has surfaced. This is the second time IKEA has been fined for an insect being spotted in their food.
A shopper purchased a chocolate cake only to find an insect crawling over the cake. The shopper took to Twitter to share his displeasure.
In response, GHMC's additional commissioner Musharraf Faruqui, said, “A team was sent to IKEA to collect samples from the same chocolate pastries in the store and based on the evidence from the video and pictures released the management was charged Rs 5,000 as penalty. Results of the samples taken from IKEA will be available by the end of this week.”
"It takes just seconds for food to get contaminated.
“As the insects run over the food, they leave harmful residue which can cause a variety of health concerns," points out Dr Khuldeep Malik of the ESI Hospital.
