Bengaluru: Torchlight parade brings down curtains on 10-day event
Mysuru: Spectacular fireworks lit the sky as the ten- day Dasara extravaganza came to an end on Friday. A torchlight parade by 300 trainees of the police training school of Hassan, who formed several formations, including “Jai Chamundi,” mesmerised the 35,000 strong audience at the Bannimantap grounds.
The evening also featured a thrilling motor cycle display by 35 motorcyclists of the Shwethasva team, an equestrian show by the mounted police of Mysuru, a contemporary dance by over 400 artistes and a cultural programme by the DNA entertainment team from Bengaluru.
The Dasara finale, which followed the Jumbo Savari that culminated at the Bannimantap grounds earlier in the day, began at 8.07pm with Governor Vajubhai Rudabhai Wala inspecting the parade in an open jeep.
A 21 gun salute followed along with 21 cannon shots fired from seven brass barrels as the national anthem played.
Soon the audience was witness to a synchronised march past by 18 teams from the Karnataka Police Academy of Mysuru, the Police Public School and two mounted platoons, as three police bands played.
