Andhra Pradesh: State Energy Conservation Awards 2023 Presented
Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh State Energy Conservation Mission has felicitated the best performers in energy conservation and energy efficiency in the state with State Energy Conservation Awards(SECA)-2023 to various government and private organisations and also presented awards to winners in the school short video competition on energy conservation.
During the valedictory function of the National Energy Conservation Week-2023 celebrations organised by APSECM at Vijayawada on Wednesday, managing director of APGENCO and JMD APTRANSCO K.V.N. Chakradhar Babu, along with APTRANSCO JMD vigilance and security B. Malla Reddy and CMD APCPDCL J. Padma Janardhana Reddy, presented the SECA-2023 to those government and private organisations that had shown excellence in the area of energy efficiency in the sectors of buildings, industries, and institutions.
Under the SECA-gold category, Welcome Hotel by ITC Hotels, Guntur, Vignan’s Institute of Information Technology, Visakhapatnam, Divisional Railway Manager Office, Guntakal, South Central Railway, Vijayawada Municipal Corporation, Ajinomoto Bio Pharma Services, Visakhapatnam, Simhadri Super Thermal Power Station, Parwada, Sree Jaya Jothi Cements Private Limited, and Banaganapalli won awards.
Under the SECA-Silver category, Novotel Varun Beach Visakhapatnam, the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Andhra Pradesh, Tadepalligudem, Rail Vikas Bhavan (office of the DRM), S.C. Railway, Guntur, Tenali Municipality, Aurobindo Pharma Limited, Unit-15, Visakhapatnam, Dr Narla Tata Rao Thermal Power Station (Dr NTTPS), Ibrahimpatnam, Vijayawada, and KCP Limited Cement Production Unit-II, Jaggayyapet, NTR District won awards.
MD APGENCO Chakradhar Babu congratulated the winners. He said, “We all have to make energy conservation our lifestyle, which can greatly benefit the economy of the state, strengthen the power sector, and offer better energy security for future generations.” The government wishes that the students will lead the energy conservation movement in the state and set an example that energy conservation is everyone’s social responsibility, the MD APGENCO said.
Chakradhar Babu also presented awards to the winning students in the short video competition for schoolchildren on concepts of energy conservation and energy efficiency and appreciated students for displaying their skill and creativity towards energy conservation.
Representatives from various industries, organisations, and students from various schools participated in the function. All the winners thanked the energy department and state government for presenting the state energy conservation awards.
