Hyderabad: In recognition of their pragmatic use of energy, five wings of South Central Railway (SCR), including stations, clinched the Telangana State Energy Conservation Awards-2023, instituted by the Telangana State Renewable Energy Development Corporation (TSREDCO).
The awards were given away by the Ministry of Energy, Telangana, at an impressive function in The Institute of Engineers here on Wednesday.
The criteria that won them the awards included the systematic and diligent attempts for efficient utilization and conservation of energy and research and promotion of energy efficiency in 2022-23.
The awardees are selected based on consistently outstanding achievements and contributions in the field of energy conservation and management in their respective categories, including the adoption of innovative techniques and technologies. Commitments towards energy management, environment friendliness, renewable energy generation, and organizational set-up to promote energy conservation in a unit are the other factors that clinch the issue.
Meanwhile, Arun Kumar Jain, general manager of SCR congratulated the entire electrical wing, divisional railway managers of Guntur, Guntakal, Hyderabad, and Secunderabad and the chief workshop manager, Lallaguda, and others, for their energy conservation efforts that brought glory to SCR.
