Guntur MP Galla Jayadev meets Japanese PM
Guntur: Guntur MP Galla Jayadev said that the team of MPs Baijayant Panda, Dr Sugata Bose, Prem Das Rai, Bharatendra Singh and Rajya Sabha member Vivek K. Tankha met Japan Prime Minister Mr Shinzo Abe in Tokyo and discussed subjects of bilateral and strategic interest between the two countries.
Mr Jayadev informed that the MPs forum visiting Japan from February 17 and they will stay in Japan till February 27.
Mr Jayadev said that they met with Mr Sujan Chinoy, Ambassador of India to Japan in Tokyo and recollected the friendship between India and Japan which had a long history rooted in spiritual affinity and strong cultural and civilizational ties.
Prominent Indians associated with Japan were Swami Vivekananda, Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore, JRD Tata, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and Judge Radha Binod Pal.
The Japan-India Association was set up in 1903, and is today the oldest international friendship body in Japan.
He recalled that in November 2016, PM Narendra Modi visited Japan and held a summit meeting with PM Abe.
Mr Jayadev hoped the present meeting would lead to prosperity and stability of the Indo-Japan relations.
He added that their team visited “The Nippon Foundation Paralympic Support Center” in Tokyo on Tuesday.
They met the Foundation chairman Mr Sasakawa San and others. The Support Centre has been established with an objective to promote Paralympic sports and encourage paralympic sports persons.
