Kathua protest: Sec 144 in Mysuru
The police tried to stop the protesters from forcing people to close the shops when they started throwing stones at the police.
Mysuru: Udayagiri remained tense and prohibitory orders under Section 144 were imposed after an organisation that had called for a bandh demanding justice for the Kathua rape and murder victim tried to forcibly close shops in Kyathamaranahalli, said Mysuru City Police Commissioner Dr A. Subramanyeswar Rao.
The police tried to stop the protesters from forcing people to close the shops when they started throwing stones at the police. The police resorted to a mild lathi-charge and used tear gas to disperse the protesters. An assistant sub-inspector suffered minor injuries in the incident, he said. Prohibitory orders will be in force for 48 hours.
