Hyderabad: A city resident ensured that an errant driver, MPTC member Suresh Yadav Avula from Nizampet, was penalised by the traffic police on Saturday.
The Cyberabad traffic police challaned the politician Rs 1,600 for driving on the wrong side and disobedience of orders.
The action came after city resident Rishika Amtha uploaded a video of the incident on Twitter. The video showed Suresh Yadav’s vehicle coming in the wrong route. When Ms Rishika confronted him and asked why he was coming on the wrong route, he was seen in the video telling her to take another route and stating that it was “his street”.

The video received praise on Twitter, with users congratulating her for her stand. Lauding Ms Amtha, Twitter user Kiran Kumar Goli commented, “Great Job. Every citizen is a police and should have right to question people violating rules. Justifying wrong doing is the worst thing we can teach our kids. The arrogance display of power is unacceptable (sic)”.
The Cyberabad traffic police issued Suresh Yadav an e-challan for driving on the wrong side and disobedience of orders.
It was found that the vehicle had been fined numerous time for wrong parking and overspeeding and had pending challans of Rs 4,600 including Saturday’s penalty.
