TRS leaders set up hoardings illegally, fined
Hanamkonda: Officials of the Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation imposed a fine of Rs 2.5 lakh on TRS leaders for violating the state government orders of banning hoardings and banners which result in environmental pollution and for putting them up without permission during the visit of IT minister K.T. Rama Rao to Hanamkonda and Warangal districts on Wednesday.
The local TRS leaders had established many flexies and vinyl posters and huge hoardings for K.T. Rama Rao’s visit spoiling the aesthetics of tri-cities Hanamkonda, Warangal and Kazipet.
The city was turned into pink especially on the main road right from Kazipet to Warnagal via Hanamkonda. The TRS installed huge circular hoardings with flag buntings, cut-outs of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao and Rama Rao on the middle of the road, on the dividers and on either sides of the road welcoming the leaders.
The roads were dug up and encroached upon for posters, banners and cut-outs resulting in inconvenience to motorists.
The municipal corporation imposed Rs 2 lakh fine to city mayor Gundu Sudharani and Rs 50,000 to other TRS leaders for flouting the norms and installing flexies and hoarding without prior permission from the GWMC.
