Hyderabad: Petrol, diesel prices hit all-time high, Rs 86 per litre next month
Hyderabad: The price of petrol in the city is heading towards Rs 86 per litre next month. On Sunday, petrol was sold for Rs 80.66 per litre and diesel Rs 73.36. On Monday, petrol will be sold for Rs 81.01 per litre and diesel Rs 73.63. This is an increase of 35 paise per litre for petrol and 27 paise for diesel.
For the eighth consecutive day since May 14, fuel prices have increased everyday, leading to resentment among motorists.
Fuel prices started increasing day after day from May 14, when oil marketing companies resumed the daily price revision after a 19-day halt for the Karnataka Assembly polls.
While the price of diesel in the city has already touched an all time high, petrol is short of just 46 paise from an all time-high of Rs 81.44 recorded on May 24, 2013, exactly five years ago. Petrol price increased by Rs 1.53 per litre and diesel by Rs 1.56 per litre in the city within a week from May 14.
Petroleum dealers expect the price band of petrol to touch Rs 85 to Rs 87 in the next two weeks.
