Koppal: In a devastating incident, a youth lost their life due to a lightning strike at Shivapura in Koppal Taluk on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Shrikanth Doddanagaudar, aged 16.
According to reliable sources, Shrikanth had attended a relative's wedding at a temple within the village and was making his way back home on Sunday afternoon when an unexpected downpour occurred.
Seeking shelter from the rain, Shrikanth sought refuge under a tree.
Tragedy struck as a lightning bolt hit him. He was swiftly sent to the district hospital. Despite the immediate medical attention, the young man was tragically pronounced dead. The Munirabad Police Station promptly registered a case in relation to the incident.
