TIRUNELVELI: The third and fourth units of Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project (KKNPP) under construction are to get all the equipments from the Russian supplier by the end of 2019.
To begin with ‘Atomenergomash’, the machine building division of ‘Rosatam State Atomic corporation of Russia’, the equipment supplying company for KKNPP, has shipped moisture separator re-heaters and high pressure heaters for unit-3 under construction.
The equipment supplying company has also shipped spare parts for the maintenance of reactor coolant pumps at the first two units under operation at KKNPP, confirmed the KKNPP source. He also hoped that the Reactor Pressure vessel (RPV), containing nuclear reactor coolant, core shroud and the reactor core, where the fuel rod assemblies are kept, for the third unit of KKNPP would be supplied by the Russian supplier within the end of this year.
