BJP leaders discuss ways to show party determination to fight corruption

Hyderabad: The issue of how to tackle the perception that the BJP was going soft on corruption charges against the BRS government and some of its leaders were among the topics that were discussed by the state BJP’s core committee on Friday evening, it was learnt.

The meeting of the group of senior party leaders, was chaired by state party president and Union minister G. Kishan Reddy. This was the first such committee meeting that Kishan Reddy led after taking over as the state party president earlier in the day.

Former Telangana state BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar is learnt to have left the meeting early to attend to an emergency relating to one of his followers from Manakondur attempting suicide, it was learnt. Sanjay, had earlier in the day, made some sensational comments about how some party leaders had complained about him to the BJP high command and called on BJP leaders not to fight anymore and rally behind Kishan Reddy.

Some of the members of the core committee are learnt to have expressed their views on the need for the BJP to be seen as acting against corruption and during the discussion it was learnt that the topic of ED questioning BRS MLC K. Kavitha in connection with the Delhi liquor scam also came up.

Kishan Reddy reportedly sought the views of the committee members on how to take the BJP campaign forward in an effective manner. The group of senior leaders decided that a 100-day action plan will be prepared in the next ten days which will be implemented from August 1 to intensify the BJP campaign for the upcoming Assembly elections later this year.
