Thiruvananthapuram: Wafa Firoz, the woman friend of IAS officer Sriram Venkitaraman, has received a divorce notice from her husband K. Firoz, an NRI. Wafa has to respond to the notice within 45 days.
Wafa owned the car which was driven by Sriram resulting in the accident that killed journalist K.M. Basheer recently. She was also with Sriram at that time.
Her husband alleged in the notice that she was following a lifestyle that is against their faith. He said Wafa refused to provide the details of the events that happened on the night of the accident and refused to talk to him.A copy of the notice was also sent to the president of the Jama'ath committee at Navayikkulam, Wafa's hometown.
As the notice said that Firoz was ready for discussion with Wafa in the presence of mediators, she and her family should meet his relatives.
