Telangana soldier among jawans killed in Ladakh accident
Hyderabad: A soldier from the state was among the nine personnel killed when an Army vehicle plunged into a gorge in Ladakh’s Leh on Saturday, August 19.
The soldier, named Neerati Chandrashekhar, hailed from Thangellapalli in Kondurg mandal of Rangareddy district. He joined the forces in 2010. He is survived by his wife, son and daughter.
According to an Army official, an ALS (Ashok Leyland Stallion) vehicle was moving as part of a convoy from Leh to Nyomathe when it skidded off the road and rolled down a gorge near Kiari in southern Ladakh around 6 pm.
