Building Rules Relaxed in SKL, says Minister Dharmana
Visakhapatnam: Revenue minister Dharmana Prasada Rao said state government has taken a decision to relax some of the building rules for constructing multi-storeyed buildings in Srikakulam town.
Speaking to media in Srikakulam on Friday, he explained that the new rules will help Srikakulam town, where roads are relatively narrow.
As per existing rules, any multi-storeyed building site should have roads, whose minimum width is 30 feet.
“People having sites on narrow approach roads can now develop their building, keeping in view the local conditions,” Prasada Rao stated.
He said the district administration is in the process of widening roads. Individuals having just a 10 feet road can use the new rules to acquire some land and widen the road.
Under the old rules, banks had not been coming forward to provide loans. But with the rules changed now, they would start advancing loans, which would facilitate construction of multi-storeyed buildings.
