Kottayam: Power is concentrated in the hands of the elder generation in the country though there are any number of youths with talent and potential, according to Mr Muraly Thummarukudy, chief of Disaster Risk Reduction in the United Nations Environment Programme. He was speaking at a seminar on ‘Social media and global Malayali' organised by the State Youth Welfare Commission at the press club here on Wednesday.
“It is the drawback of our country that the talented youths have not reached the top leadership. This is the case in the realm of politics, music and cinema,” he noted. State Youth Welfare Commission chairperson, Chintha Jerome presided over the meeting. Dr P.S. Jinesh, SFI state president. Jaick C. Thomas and press club president Sanu George Thomas were present.
