Kozhikode: ULCCS to launch global institute
KOZHIKODE: Uralungal Labour Contract Co-operative Society Ltd (ULCCS) will launch an international institute on cooperative governance supported by International Cooperative Alliance, University of Western Australia and Institute of Rural Management, Anand.
It'll provide capacity building and skill development for policymakers and managers in the advanced areas in tune with the future of work India, home to 25 per cent of the world's cooperatives.
ULCCS will also launch a massive dairy entrepreneurship programme to tap the state's potential, according to Dr T.P. Sethumadhavan, director of UL Education. Its integrated dairy cold chain project will process the milk and move for value addition. Producers will get additional incentives through value addition and export of dairy products.
The dairy plant can handle up to 10,000 litres of milk per hour. The project will cover five Malabar districts. ULCCS also has massive extension programmes to improve production, productivity and quality along with convergence with information and communication technology, with round the clock call centres and veterinary helplines.
It will converge with integrated agriculture project of Nochad Grama panchayat here.
The cluster-based dairy producer system and dairy units will be on the model of startups, with at least cows in a group.
"We'll pursue meaningful collaborations with pioneering dairy institutions within the country and abroad," he said.
"We'll have customised Skilling programmes required for dairy and agribusiness and promote the concept of safe to eat across the state."
It'll provide infrastructure facilities for appropriate input supply through establishing Total milk ration plant, ration balancing, precision breeding and management practices.
The Blockchain and Internet of Things will help residue monitoring and logistics management in nutrition, animal health, breeding value addition and marketing.
