Owaisis keep alive confusion about who is contesting from Hyderabad
Hyderabad: The Owaisi brothers are not in a mood to end the curiosity over the party candidate from the Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency. MIM president Asaduddin Owaisi and legislator Akbaruddin Owaisi on Thursday jointly participated in a padayatra amid mounting speculation that the party president may contest from the Aurangabad Lok Sabha seat. According to this theory, Mr Asaduddin Owaisi had decided to contest from Maharashtra to strengthen the party in the region.
The Owaisi brothers took out a rally in Riyasatnagar of the Chandrayangutta Assembly segment of the Hyderabad LS seat from where Mr Akbaruddin Owaisi was elected for the fifth time in the December elections last year. Both of them interacted with voters. It was observed that during the rally Mr Asaduddin Owaisi requested the people to cast their vote in favour of his party’s candidate and avoided mention of the name of the candidate. This only resulted in heightening the curiosity. He appealed to the people to cast their votes in early on April 11,the polling day
Mr Asaduddin Owaisi later said that he would be contesting from Hyderabad but the party cadre, voters and even political analysts were confused over the candidature of his brother as he appeared to be saying it in a humorous mode at a public meeting.
