1.50 crore land records corrected in AP, says CCLA
VIJAYAWADA: The AP government is taking steps to have a single database for all lands in the state in the future.
Special chief secretary to CCLA, Sai Prasad, said on Friday that AP has initiated many reforms in the revenue department in the last two years and corrected 1.50 crore records out of a total of 2.74 crore land records.
Addressing the media, he said strict steps were taken to ensure that those who received the survey numbers did not make any changes. The government has removed 3 lakh acres of dotted lands and conditional patta lands from the prohibited list.
So far, 1798 registrations have been done through village secretariats. Boundary stones in 2000 villages, where the first phase of resurvey was completed, will be installed by May 20. Currently, 2.98 per cent of the applications for mutation transfer have exceeded the SLA deadline and 11.9 per cent of those have been rejected.
A year ago, the number of applications for mutation transfer that had expired due to the SLA was up to 50 per cent and the rejections 30 per cent.
Sai Prasad said 12 tehsildars involved in irregularities in the management of land records last year were removed from their duties and 13 tehsildars were given reversion from tehsildar to deputy tehsildar posts.
About 4 lakh acres of dotted lands in the state are in the restricted list. After receiving their reports, the collectors would reexamin the matter. With the approval of the cabinet, more than three lakh acres of land have now been removed from the restricted list.
Sai Prasad said the process of registrations has started in the village secretariats across the 2000 villages where the first phase of the resurvey has been completed. So far, 1798 registrations have been done. Mandatory registrations are being carried out through 295 registration offices under the authority of the Registrations Department and steps are being taken to start registration service centers in urban areas soon under the authority of the registrations department.
Explaining about the first round of resurvey, Sai Prasad said two lakh mutations have been carried out and four lakh land subdivisions made. FMB documents with rights have been published and distributed to 7.86 lakh people.
The SCS explained that the data of 10 lakh students (from a total of 40 lakh people with their families) have been made available in the village secretariats and caste verification documents have been issued to these students.
Survey and settlement commissioner Siddharth Jain, additional CCLA AMd Imtiaz, CCLA joint secretary Prabhakar Reddy, stamps registration IG Ramakrishna and others were present.
