Hyderabad: A 25-year-old Telugu man has died in the state of Arizona, in the United States. Namburi Sri Datta, a resident of Vanasthalipuram, was visiting a waterfall in the city of Tempe on Sunday and, according to reports, fell into the water and drowned. Emergency crews rushed him to a hospital where doctors declared him dead.
According to his family, Sri Datta, who had a Master’s degree from the US, had been working for Tata Consultancy Services in Arizona. “He was living in Tempe. Since it was the weekend, he and some friends had gone to the waterfalls nearby,” said one of his relatives.
Friends have said the drowning death was an accident. Sri Datta’s body is expected to reach Hyderabad this week after the US officials finish all the required paperwork. A pall of gloom has descended over the family of the techie at Kamla Nagar in Vanasthalipuram. His parents received news of their son’s death on Monday night.
“He had said that he would be visiting next month as he had applied for two weeks of leave,” Sri Datta’s grief-stricken mother, N. Ragamani who is employed with the forest department, said.
