HD Kumaraswamy prefers school stay
YADGIR: Obviously smitten over media reports which spoke of the special attention paid to providing luxurious facilities at the homes of farmers in villages where he stayed during his previous Grama Vastavya programmes, Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy has this time chosen to stay in government school buildings only.
At Chandriki village, Mr Kumaraswamy will be staying in the Government Higher Primary School situated on the outskirts of the village. The entire school building has been painted afresh and the toilet for the use of the CM has been renovated. New electrical fittings have also been installed.
Mr Kumaraswamy will rest on a simple mat (chaape) on the floor in the night in a room measuring approximately 14 X14 feet. The floor is made of the local Shahabad stone. The room has been fitted with two ceiling fans and has no AC or cooler. However a mosquito net would be provided to him.
It is not clear if Mr Kumaraswamy will stay alone or Gurumitkal MLA Nagangouda Kandakur will stay with him. Earlier speaking to the media, Mr Kumaraswamy said that this time he had chosen to stay in government schools to facilitate the improvement of facilities.
