Bar Association Felicitates Justice V. Ramasubramanian
Hyderabad: The Bar Association of the Telangana High Court on Thursday felicitated Justice V. Ramasubramanian, who is set to retire as a Supreme Court Justice on June 29.
Telangana HC Chief Justice Ujjal Bhuyan and senior Justice P. Naveen Rao, among others, took part in the programme.
Justice Bhuyan, crediting Justice Ramasubramanian for showing the path to resolve long-pending Nizam land issues, said that everyone admired the witty words often used by the Supreme Court judge during hearings and in judgments.
Telangana High Court Advocates’ Association (THCAA) president Palle Nageshwara Rao recalled the landmark judgments of Justice Ramasubramanian.
Justice Ramasubramanian thanked the advocates and judges for "their overwhelming love” they have been showering on him ever since he came to the Hyderabad High Court as a judge, on a transfer from the Madras HC in 2016.
After serving in Telangana for three years, he was elevated as the Chief Justice of Himachal Pradesh HC and later became a judge of the Supreme Court.
It was during his stint in Hyderabad that the court was bifurcated into AP and Telangana High Courts on January 1, 2019. “I was the first judge to be elevated as CJ of another high court from Telangana High Court. Later, I was the first to become the judge of the apex court from here. I became part of your history because I was here during those historical moments,” Justice Ramasubramanian said.
