OOTY: As the battered road between Emerald and Avalanche stretch has been repaired, though temporarily, and was made suitable to handle traffic, it paved the way for the picnic trips up to the Avalanche base camp to enjoy the beauty of nature.
Though it looked challenging as landslips in about a dozen spots with landslides in four places made the road and traffic restoration in this road a tough task, after the record-breaking heavy downpour pounded Avalanche recently, the Nilgiris district administration has proved its mettle by restoring this road to resume traffic in quick time.
The disaster management teams and the highway technocrats should be lauded for their plan and execution of work to bring the Emerald - Avalanche road back on track.
