Hyderabad: Police detain social activist, released later
Hyderabad: City-based social activist Syed Saleem was forcefully taken by three unidentified men from his house in Hyderabad’s Old City, on Monday, triggering rumours about his kidnap. Saleem had met Telangana Congress president Revanth Reddy prior to the incident.
A video of the incident has gone viral on social media, in which three men were seen dragging Saleem into an autorickshaw parked outside his house.
Another video showed Syed Saleem confirming to media persons that he was detained by the police and has been released.
The police have made it clear that the detaining was in connection with Saleem's derogatory remarks against Home Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali.
