Navy Chief Admiral Hari Kumar Visits Karwar Naval Base

Karwar: Chief of Naval Staff Admiral R Hari Kumar marked his visit to the Karwar Naval Base on August 21 by inaugurating two newly constructed residential buildings, boasting a total of 1200 modern flats, 600 each located at Amadhalli and Arga within the naval base.

The new residential towers, comprising ten units in total, have been meticulously designed to offer modern amenities, enhanced interiors, thoughtfully landscaped surroundings, and a host of external services—all of which adhere to the exacting standards of IGBC Gold Rating.

These commendable infrastructure enhancements are an integral part of the ongoing Phase IIA of Project Seabird, a grand initiative that aims to accommodate approximately 10,000 uniformed personnel along with their families, encompassing both military and civilian personnel.

Naval officials shed light on the remarkable ripple effect this ongoing construction has on the local economy, generating numerous direct and indirect employment opportunities.

The project's approach is in harmony with the essence of Aatma Nirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India), with more than 90% of the construction materials sourced domestically, underscoring its commitment to national self-sufficiency.

Admiral Hari Kumar praised the Project Seabird effort in the creation of high-quality defence infrastructure and urged expeditious completion of remaining facilities.
