BJP gears up for LS polls, ensures battle stations armed
Chennai: The BJP’s crucial executive committee meeting which will be held at Rajapalayam in the State on September 22 and 23 will see the party review its preparedness for the Lok Sabha polls next year and ensure its ‘battle stations are fully armed.’
“We have already created a data base on the elaborate network of all those involved in strengthening the organisation and poll machinery, as well, at various levels. These will be reviewed and things will be taken forward to face the Parliament elections,” a senior BJP leader said.
He claimed nearly 70 per cent of task on forming booth level agents and booth level committee have been completed.
“Already the 40-member Parliament committee is touring the state to strengthen the poll machinery and in addition in-charge for each of the 234 Assembly constituencies have also been drafted,” he said.
With the party leaders, of late, getting mired in controversies and also are facing the public and political parties’ ire on steep hike in fuel prices, the leadership is likely to hammer out ways to tackle such issues. “Poll related issues would be worked out ahead of the elections. At present, we are more concerned about strengthening the party’s poll machinery and convert them into battle station that are fully manned and alert, to help the lotus bloom in the State in a big way,” he said.
“Ofcourse, the ammunition viz. the poll issues, will be provided at an appropriate time,” the BJP senior added.
