KANNUR: Kannur registered a loss of Rs 731.4 crore in the recent flood and landslips. It was in the meeting held on Friday to review the flood losses, district collector Mir Mohammed Ali presented a report on the total losses registered in the district.
30 people have lost their lives in the district since the onset of monsoon here. 122 houses havebeen completely damaged, whereas 3,429 houses have been partially damaged. “We have registered more than Rs 22 crore of losses for people whose houses were damaged in the floods,” he said.
In the agricultural sector, 993.3 hectare of land was affected badly, thereby registering a loss of '27.80 crore. Several roads have been damaged badly and an amount of Rs 418 crore is required for the repair works.
