GUNTUR: YSR Congress youth wing and SC cell staged a protest terming AP CM N. Chandrababu Naidu as “Narakasura” (Naraka demon) and tried to burn his effigy at Sankar Vilas Centre in Guntur on Saturday but in vain.
The leaders and activists took out a protest rally from the YSRC office to Sankar Vilas centre and squatted on the main road.
YSRC youth district president Diamond Babu said the TD completely forgot fulfilling the promises made during 2014 elections.
He alleged that Mr Naidu is cancelling all the welfare schemes and recently cut down the ration supply through fair price shops. YSRC SC cell president B. Sai Babu alleged that the state was diverting funds allocated under SC sub-plan.
YSRC youth wing general secretary M Ramu alleged that Mr Naidu deceived Kapus by forgetting the promise of BC status to Kapu community. Leaders A Srinu, K Chinnapa Reddy, K Sunil and others alleged that Mr Naidu robbing the public money in the name of projects by giving contracts to his benamis.
The leaders and activists cleaned the road with brooms protesting the anti public welfare policies of the TD government and they tried to burn Narakasura Babu effigy but the police rushed to the spot and foiled the bid.
