FRO death: CM KCR announces Rs 50 lakh exgratia, job to kin

HYDERABAD: Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao expressed deep shock and sorrow over the death of forest range officer (FRO) Srinivasa Rao, who was attacked by Guthikoya tribals in Bhadradri Kothagudem district on Tuesday.

The CM asked DGP M. Mahendar Reddy to take legal action to ensure that Srinivasa Rao's attackers were punished strictly. The CM announced an ex gratia payment of Rs. 50 lakh to the family of the murdered official.

The CM directed officials to extend full salary to the family of Srinivasa Rao as per rules till his retirement. He also directed officials to give a government job to an eligible family member on compassionate grounds.

The CM told Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar to conduct the last rites of Srinivas Rao with full state honours. He directed forest minister Allolla Indrakaran Reddy and Khammam district incharge minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar to attend the funeral.

The CM said that attacks on government employees who were on duty would not be tolerated and the culprits will be punished sternly. Rao assured that the government will support the employees to perform their duties without any impediment.
