Hyderabad: The division bench of Chief Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice Anil Kumar Jukanti on Wednesday was not inclined to issue directions in the petition seeking directions to the returning officer (RO) of Alampur Assembly constituency to reject the nomination of Vijayudu, the BRS candidate.
The writ petition was filed by Dr. Prasanna Kumar Repalle, who is in the fray as an independent candidate. According to the petitioner, Vijayudu works as a field assistant in Pullur village of Jogulamba Gadwal district. He submitted that there was no information with regard to his resignation from the job.
He said that representations to the RO against accepting the ruling party candidate’s nomination, which was in violation of ECI guidelines, went in vain.
The division bench disposed of the case stating that it cannot interfere as the process of election had commenced.
