Guntur: The biggest national level Mega medi carnival-2017 is being held in Katuri medical college and hospital. It has helped students enhance their medical knowledge in KMCH premises at Guntur. As many as 55 stalls with hundreds of exhibits about anatomy, diseases and modern treatment are attracting the students. The cardiology, hypertension, digestive, throat, tooth, skeletal, muscular, endocrine, nervous. Respiratory and male/female reproductive system exhibits in the stalls attracted the public and students.
Nearly 5,000-8,000 people, a majority of them students, visited the carnival. The students were showing an interest to know about the human body anatomy system and clearing their doubts with demonstrators. Students P. Ramya, G. Sivani and others said that they were studying in class IX and that they human anatomy and physiology. But, after seeing the body parts in details in the exhibits, they totally understand the human body system and its function.
They said that the exhibition was very helpful for students to gain awareness about our body function, diseases and ailments. P. Ramana Rao, a teacher who brought his students said that a majority public are unaware about cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) duringemergencies which can save lives. He said that the demonstration of CPR showed the use of chest compression and rescue breathing of mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.
He said that CPR is very useful to save lives during emergencies as first aid and students and general public becoming aware with CPR demonstration. KMCH CEO Mr SNSR Sekar said that 70,000 students and 20,000 public from Guntur, Vijayawada, Tenali, Ongole, Rajamundry, Piduguralla and other areas visited the carnival. He said that free snacks and lunch was offered to the students of government schools and further hands-on-training on basic life support.
