Ex-Minister Kidari Sarveswara Rao Flays CM Jagan for Ignoring Adivasi Interests
Visakhapatnam: Former minister and Telugu Desam Araku parliamentary constituency president Kidari Sravan came down heavily on the YSRC government for the alleged apathy towards tribal communities.
Addressing the media in Visakhapatnam on Friday, Sravan accused Jagan Mohan Reddy of prioritising corporate interests over the well-being of the tribal populace.
Highlighting the CM’s purported intentions to exploit tribal areas for corporate gain, Sravan condemned the cancellation of 16 schemes meant for tribal welfare and the reported weakening of laws safeguarding tribal rights.
Sravan emphasised the absence of financial aid reaching the tribal communities and questioned the credibility of the YSRC among these marginalised groups.
Expressing dismay over Jagan’s associations, Sravan raised concerns about the CM’s alleged proximity to individuals involved in controversial incidents, notably questioning Jagan’s alignment with Anantha Babu, implicated in the death of an SC youth.
Challenging the government’s financial transparency, Sravan demanded a detailed account of funds allocated for tribal development during both the previous and current administrations. Accusing Jagan’s rule of permitting illegal mining activities in tribal regions, Sravan highlighted the cancellation of schemes aimed at providing employment to tribal individuals, promising TDP’s commitment to reinstating these initiatives.
“It is unfortunate that the Chief Minister did not mention a word about Adivasis in his public meeting held at Chintapalli in ASR district on Thursday,” Sravan said.
Sravan is son of slain MLA Kidari Sarveswara Rao, who was gunned down by Maoists in Araku in 2018.
