VHP to shield hindu sisters during Holi

Lucknow: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and the Bajrang Dal have set up squads to protect Hindu girls during Holi on Wednesday and Thursday.
Teams of 10 to 15 boys have been formed to ‘protect their Hindu sisters’ from attempts at eve teasing during the festival. The teams will also keep an eye on cases of ‘love jihad’.
A senior VHP leader said that the team will be present in about 400 villages in the district and the city. “Some anti-social elements use Holi as an excuse to tease girls belonging to another community.
Our teams will keep an eye on such elements and teach them a lesson so that they think twice before indulging in eve-teasing”, said the VHP leader.
