Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao is expected to take action against officials found guilty of the fiasco in the Intermediate examination results.
Sources said that the preliminary report of a three-member committee set up to inquire into the matter has been submitted to the CM. The report says internal differences between Intermediate Board officers and also within employees’ unions led to inaccurate mark sheets being issued to many students. Caste politics too is responsible, the report said.
The report says there were no lapses in conduct of the examination and the evaluation.
According to the sources, the report says that the differences among the employees unions of the Inter Board and infighting between two top officials of the Board are the main reasons for the mess. Caste politics has also entered the Intermediate Board. But there were no lapses in conducting the examinations and in the evaluation, the report holds. To support this, the committee has given the figures of applications received by the board for recounting and reverification of marks in previous years and in the present year.
The CM has also received information that forces in the Board had provoked students and their parents to protest. A senior official informed that in the infighting some officials have targeted the institution rather than the individuals responsible.
Mr Rao was also told by Board officials that in previous years the Inter Board had received many more applications for recounting and reverification, and at present it has received just 4,440 applications for reverification and 800 for recounting of marks.
