Telugu states shine in UPSC Civil Services exam
Warangal/Karimnagar/Hyderabad/Adilabad: Over 40 aspirants from the Telugu states cleared the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Exam (CSE). In all, 80,707 candidates had appeared at the preliminary exam from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, about 500 had qualified for the mains and over 100 aspirants are expected to have qualified for the personality test .
Many of the rankers graduated from the IITs. The results indicate that a strong foundation at the school and college level is the base for success in competitive examinations, said Gopala Krishna, director of a popular IAS academy in the city.
Ajmera Sanketh Kumar of Karnapet village in Dandepalli mandal, Mancherial, got the 35th rank. His father Premsingh Naik is an assistant director in the horticulture department in Hyderabad. Sanketh belongs to the ST community.
Shakamuri Sai Harshit, 22, of Advocates Colony in Hanamkonda district secured the 40th rank in his first attempt, Anugu Shivamaruthi Reddy, native of Ailapur of Korutla mandal in Jagtial district, the 132th rank in his second attempt. His father Anji Reddy is a school assistant at Gundampally in Mallapur manal.
IIT-Madras alumni Dongre Revaiah of Komaram Bheem Asifabad district, hailing from a poor Dalit family and student of the government’s social welfare residential school and college, got the 410th rank. His mother Vistaru Bai worked as a cook for the mid-day meal scheme in their native village Thungeda in Rebbena mandal. His father died when Revaiah was a child. Revaiah’s brother is a village secretary while his sister is studying at NIT, Nagpur. Revaiah was working as an assistant engineer job at ONGC in Mumbai.
Ramdeni Sainath of Balaraopet in Luxettipet mandal of Mancherial district got the 742nd rank. He completed his engineering at Osmania University in 2018. Sainath belongs to the OBC community.
Koyyada Pranay Kumar, a student of the Telangana State SC Study Circle and native of Jangaon district, secured the 885 rank in his first attempt.
