Jagan to Lay Foundation for 50,793 Houses on 25 Layouts in Amaravati

Vijayawada: Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy would lay the foundation stone for 50,000 houses under a mega housing project in Amaravati on Monday.

Aiming to provide houses to the poor, the CM will also lay foundation stones for social infrastructure like schools, anganwadi centers, health centres and digital libraries. He would also initiate a tree plantation drive in Krishnayapalem and Venkatapalem in Amaravati.

The chief minister would address a public meeting.

Jagan Reddy would lay the foundation for construction of houses in CRDA region at 9.30am in Krishnayapalem, Guntur district. He would later go to Venkatapalem and would interact with public representatives, pose for photos with housing beneficiaries, distribute housing sanction proceedings and address the public.

He would lay the foundation for 45 social infrastructure projects, conceived at a cost of Rs 1,829.57 crore.

Municipal administration and urban development minister Adimulapu Suresh said, “Quashing the skewed logic that Amaravati should be the residence of only the privileged and overcoming all the obstacles and legal complications, the Jagan-led government is now all set for construction of houses for the poor women in CRDA region. Jagan is building full-fledged habitations, not just houses.”

Under this scheme, house sites have been offered with a market value of Rs 5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh, all free of cost, to 50,793 poor women, the minister noted.
He added, “This government distributed 50,793 house sites in CRDA region to women beneficiaries, free of cost, on May 26 this year, and is now laying the foundation to construct houses on those house sites.”
