I will contest from Vijayapura or Bagalkote: BS Yeddyurappa
Belagavi: State BJP chief, B S Yeddyurappa, who announced in Belagavi on Friday that he was shifting his constituency from Shikaripura to either Vijayapura or Bagalkote for the coming assembly poll, claimed he was choosing to contest from North Karnataka to “fulfill the aspirations of its people to see a leader from their region become Chief Minister.”
Speaking to reporters at Belagavi airport, Mr Yeddyurappa said if he was elected from North Karnataka it would help eight to 10 of its districts and also make the people here happy to see a BJP leader from the region become Chief Minister. “It will give the people a sense of satisfaction if I contest from here,”' he contended.
While he said he had not decided yet on whether to set up house in North Karnataka ahead of the polls, he maintained he was keen to help the development of the region by winning from it. Setting a time frame this time to “nail the state government in various scams,” Mr Yeddyurappa said he would release the neccesssary documents once he reach Shikaripura in the next three days.
