Gates of twin reservoirs shut
HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) on Thursday informed that since the rains have receded and the flood flows from the upper reaches have stopped, the gates of the twin reservoirs at Osmansagar and Himayatsagar have been closed.
At Osmansgar, where the full water level is 1,790.00 feet, the current water level is 1788.25 feet. The reservoir has a full capacity 3,900 tmc and the current water storage stands a 3.499 tmc. There are in all 15 gates to the reservoir.
At Himayatsagar, where the full water level is 1,763.50 feet, the current water level stands at 1,761.75 feet. Himayatsagar has as full capacity of 2.968 tmc. The current water storage of the reservoir is 2.562 tmc and as 17 gates.
