Tanveer Sait attack: Farhan Pasha practiced on dogs first?

The police said that Farhan has trained himself in handling weapons, and the mode of attack by some of the suspected Muslim organisations.

Mysuru: The attack on senior Congress leader Tanveer Sait at a wedding function on Sunday was a pre-planned and the accused, Farhan Pasha (25), had tried to get near the former minister on several occasions earlier, the police said.

Farhan is seen in a video of a protest, led by Mr Sait, against the government for not allowing private celebration of Tipu Jayanthi, at Bannimantap.

The police suspect him to be part of a conspiracy by the People Front of India. Apart from Farhan, the police arrested five others – Abid Pasha, Akram, Noor Jaan, Mujeeb and Mujaamil. Abid, who is associated with PFI, is an accused in the murder of pro-Hindu activist Raju of Kyathamaranahalli.

The group had conspired to murder of several others, including pro-Hindu activists, and the police have now provided security to pro-Hindu activist H.G. Giridhar at Kalyangiri in NR Constituency. But Mysuru Police Commissioner K.T. Balakrishna said that it is a routine review of security which they do it once every six months.

The police said that Farhan has trained himself in handling weapons, and the mode of attack by some of the suspected Muslim organisations has been same – one stroke to the neck by a sharp weapon. Recently, Malayala Manorama reported heads of dogs being found chopped in Kerala and it was suspected that this was done by these Muslim organisations to train in weapons. Police are even checking links on that.

Meanwhile pamphlets stuck on the walls in Ramanagara reveal that the PFI was opposed to the Supreme Court Verdict on Ayodhya.

But Balakrishna did not want to comment on the investigation, and only said that the report will be submitted to the court shortly.
