All villages will get Internet soon: Palle Raghunatha Reddy
Rajahmundry: Minister for information technology Palle Raghunatha Reddy announced that all villages in the state to get Internet access with 20 MBPS capacity by end of July in the state under digital India and digital Andhra Pradesh programme.
The minister told newsmen on the sidelines of a programme held at Anaparthy on Wednesday that as part of fiber grid network, all the villages would get internet access for the benefit of the people to avail useful information.
He said that by end of March, nearly 20 lakh households to be given domestic gas connections in the state. With regard to implementation of Swachh Bharat and Swachh AP, the minister said that they were making all efforts to ensure that every house to get individual sanitary latrine for maintenance of sanitation especially in rural areas.
Under Neeru-Chettu programme, the minister said that they were desilting the tanks by spending nearly Rs 1,000 cr to facilitate conservation of rain water and help improve ground water tables, he said and added that the state government was implementing MGNREGS in a big way to help improve living standards among the poor.
Maintaining that the state government is committed to develop the state in industrial and other sectors, the minister claimed that the state witnessed double digit growth in the economy after bifurcation of the state and said that the state was placed in the second rank for providing opportunity to the investors to invest more money for setting up industrial units.
