Hyderabad: Almost 75,000 students have applied for Eamcet in Telangana in five days ending Tuesday. There has been a rush after the Intermediate exams concluded in the state.

Overall, about 1.68 lakh candidates have registered for the Eamcet in TS so far, 94,000 for the engineering stream and 73,000 for the medical and agriculture test.
The number stood at 2.32 lakh last year. Officials expect the number of applications this year to reach 2.6 lakh by the last date of March 28.
In AP, 21,168 candidates applied for the Eamcet in four days. Officials have received a total of 2.81 lakh applications as of Wednesday, 1.81 lakh in the engineering and 98,638 for the medical and agriculture stream. Authorities attributed this rush to the conclusion of Intermediate exams in both states.
“Students were preoccupied with exams for over 2 weeks. Hence, the registrations were slow. But it gained momentum in the last few days,” said TS Eamcet convener N.V. Ramana Rao.
Officials have taken steps to ensure that there are no technical glitches. The server can easily accept 75,000 registrations a day, Mr Ramana Rao said.
