Kannur: Special privilege for Akash Thillankery in jail, syas K Sudhakaran

KANNUR: Congress leader K. Sudhakaran alleged on Friday that the first accused in the Shuhaib murder case, Akash Thillankery, has been getting special privileges in jail. His cell also remains open all the time, said Sudhakaran, adding that a female friend of Akash, from Kuthuparamba, could spend time with him in the jail for 12 hours in just three days.

Mr Sudhakaran has sent a complaint to the Jail DGP demanding action against the Kannur special sub jail authorities. The CPM had expelled the four accused in the case from the party after cases were registered against them. The revelations by Sudh-akaran on the privileges they receive at the jail hint at their continuing relations with the CPM.

Mr Sudhakaran alleged that the cell of the Shuhaib murder accused remains open throughout and they were treated like jail authorities than inmates. The friend of Akash visited him on March 9 and again on March 13 and March 16.

Another accused in the Shuhaib murder case, C.S. Deep Chand had allegedly threatened the main three witnesses when they were brought for identification parade at judicial first class magistrate court.
