BENGALURU: A complaint was on Monday submitted to Governor Vajubhai Vala, requesting him not to give his approval to appoint BDA Commissioner Sham Bhat as the chairman of the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC).
Following Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s recommendation to appoint Mr Bhat as the KPSC chief, the Convener of Corruption Eradication Forum, Ramamurthy Gowda, submitted the complaint to the Governor’s office. Mr. Gowda said that he would also file a complaint with the Anti-Corruption Bureau.
“Mr Bhat has got several BDA sites by allotting them to his relatives and friends. As he is close to Mr Siddaramaiah, his name has been recommended for the KPSC Chairman’s post, though he has several allegations of corruption against him. There is a hidden agenda behind this move to extend his service for another six years, as he is on the verge of retirement. The recommendation should be not approved,” Mr Gowda demanded.
