Guntur: Congress wants Amit Shah to go back
GUNTUR: Congress leaders and activists staged a protest demanding Amit Shah to go back, at Guntur on Tuesday. The protesters alleged that the BJP was cheating AP people by rejecting Special Category Status to the state. They warned about staging protests on May 25 against Mr Amit’ Shah’s visit. A big rally was held from Congress Bhavan to the market centre and later a protest was held infront of the statue of Rajiv Gandhi raising slogans against Mr Amit Shah’s visit.
Congress district committee president M. Mallikar-juna Rao claimed that the BJP-led union government was completing three years in power by May 26, but Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Mr Amit Shah totally failed to fulfill election promises given to residuary AP. He said that Mr Amit Shah did not fulfill promises given to AP and became a “liar”. He demanded Mr Shah to go back from AP for deceiving Andhra people.
Former MLA Sk Mastan Vali recaled the BJP demand for providing SCS to AP for 10 years against UPA government’s proposed five years was withdrawn by the BJP leaders which amounted to cheating the Andhra public. He said that the Congress will campaign about how the BJP cheated the people of the state. APCC state secretary Abdul Waheed, Congress SC cell president K. Vinay Kumar, Youth Congress leader S. Rohit and other leaders along with activists participated in the protest programme.
