New twist in controversy between MLA Rajaiah and sarpanch Navya
Warangal: The controversy between Station Ghanpur BRS MLA Thatikonda Rajaiah and Janakipuram village sarpanch K. Navya took a new twist with the National and State Women Commissions, which took the case on suo motu and issued notices to the Warangal police officials and asked them to submit the report as early as possible.
After this, the Warangal police officials also issued two notices to sarpanch Navya, one by Dharmasagar circle inspector Ramesh and the other by Kazipet assistant commissioner of police Srinivas.
The police officials asked her to submit call records, documentary evidence, and any other evidence she had within three days so that they could submit a detailed report to the women’s commission.
Dharmasagar circle inspector Ramesh told Deccan Chronicle that after going through the evidence and checking facts, he would file a case.
Navya said that she had all the evidence and promised to hand it over to the police personnel. She should produce the evidence within three days, he added.
It is to be noted here that Navya lodged a complaint with the Dharmasagar police station against MLA Rajaiah, his personal assistant Srinivas, Dharmasagar MPP Kavitha, and her husband Praveen on June 21. Navya claimed that she had all the evidence regarding the harassment done by the MLA and his close associates.
In the complaint, she alleged that her husband Praveen and MLA PA Srinivas called her to Hanamkonda, and assured her that the MLA was going to sanction funds for the developmental works in the villages, and after visiting his residence in Hanamkonda, they exerted pressure on her to sign two agreement papers.
The agreement papers said that she raised controversy against MLA Rajaiah only to gain political mileage, and in the future, any allegation she makes will be purely her responsibility, and Rs 20 lakh will not be for the developmental works but as a hand loan from MLA Rajaiah to her. After going through the agreement papers, I refused to sign them, she said.
Even Dharmasagar MPP Kavitha, acting as a mediator between Rajaiah and me, tried to convince and lure me with many offers. When I denied her offers, she began to torture me mentally, she alleged.
Meanwhile, the police officials who received the complaint did not file an FIR but they are carrying out an investigation to take further necessary steps if Navya produces evidence to them.
