Kottayam: The Vaikom police on Wednesday registered a case under the section 406 of the IPC for breach of trust against Rahul Easwar on the basis of the petition of Ashokan, the father of Akhila who is under house confinement at TV Puram near Vaikom.
Mr Ashokan filed the complaint on Tuesday evening alleging that Mr Easwar, who met Akhila at her house a few days back, had circulated through his Facebook account the photographs of him with Ms Akhila. This amounts to a breach of trust, he alleges in his petition.
“The case has been registered on the basis of a preliminary assessment. The investigation will be conducted”, Vaikom DYSP K.A. Subhash told DC.
Akhila alias Hadiya, a Homeo doctor by profession is under house arrest at her house at TV Puram near Vaikom after the Kerala High Court sent her with her parents after the HC nullified her marriage with Safin Jehan.
The police are providing a round the clock security to Ms Akhila on the apprehension that she faces threat of some extremist elements on the basis of the High Court order. At least 37 police officials are guarding the house of Akhila at TV Puram.
Akhila, daughter of Ashokan had got converted to Islam while studying Homeo medicine at a College in Perinthalmanna which had stirred controversy.
