Nobody can rock Cong-JD(S) govt: Siddaramaiah

Siddaramaiah visited the family of farmer Nandish who ended his life with his wife and two kids in Pandavapura taluk on Saturday.

Mysuru: Asserting that no one can topple the coalition government at any cost, former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that the BJP is only day dreaming of doing so. He was speaking after inaugurating Kanaka Bhavan in Mandya on Sunday.

He said, “BJP leaders are trying to woo our MLAs each day. They are wooing them with crores of rupees. Where did they get such a huge amount of money? They have amassed black money and are trying to come to power through negative means (vaama maarga). We never wanted a communal party (BJP) to come to power in the state. That is why we have joined hands with the JD(S) and have set up a coalition government. BJP leaders are communalists. They won't be in favour of the oppressed if they come to power."

He added, "Yes I am pro Ahinda(a coalition of backward castes, dalits and minorities), it is my duty to voice the problems of the oppressed. But out of jelousy some remark that I work only in favour of Ahinda. That is not true. The popular programmes during my tenure as Chief Minister including Anna Bhagya, Shoe Bhagya and many more were meant for the poor from all classes. I came up with the celebration of birth anniversaries of great leaders like Basavanna and Kempegowda. In order to ensure economic and social justice to the backward classes, a caste census has been done, which is ready for release," he said.

Siddaramaiah visited the family of farmer Nandish who ended his life with his wife and two kids at Sunkathonnuru in Pandavapura taluk on Saturday. He consoled the grief stricken parents of the deceased, Kempegowda and Kamalamma and gave them Rs 1 lakh.
