Swarna Rathotsavam marks sixth day of Tirumala brahmotsavam
Ananthapur: On the sixth day of the ongoing Srivari Salakatla Brahmotsavam in Tirumala, TTD organised Swarna Rathotsavam on Saturday evening.
Sri Malayappa Swamy, along with consorts Sridevi and Bhudevi, gave darshan to devotees while passing through the galleries in the four mada streets. Devotees, especially women, pulled the Lord’s chariot all through the four streets chanting Govinda Namas.
Earlier in the morning, Sri Malayappa Swamy took a ride on His humble and noble devotee Hanumantha Vahana as Kodandarama and blessed His devotees. TTD chairman Bhumana Karunakar Reddy, devasthanam executive officer A.V. Dharma Reddy and several others, including TTD board members, were present.
At least 275 artists from 10 cultural teams of Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Kerala made the Hanumantha Vahana Seva grander with exclusive cultural programmes. The Kerala team attracted special attention with 25 drummers, including women, participating in traditional attire and dancing to the rhythmic beats.
As is the custom every year, the team from Udupi performed in front of the Lord. Similarly, 30 women artists belonging to Sri Bharata Kala academy of Chennai presented Sri Krishna Vaibhavam. Another team from Rajahmundry, Sri Lakshmi Bhajans Mandali with 25 artists, presented folk dance. A 25-member Tirumala Sesha Bhajans Mandali presented a unique dance with artists dressed as Durga dancing to the Devi Stotra Mantra.
Annamaiah Sankeertan Bharata Natyam of 30 artists from Anantapur turned out to be the last in the series of cultural activities for the day.
