Hyderabad: West zone police conducted Operation Chabutra on vagabonds under Habeeb Nagar and Mangalhat police station limits. Using applications like C.dot, facial recognition system, fingerprint identification, traced 52 people who allegedly had criminal records from the 288 persons taken into custody on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday.
West zone deputy commissioner of police, B. Sumathi supervised the operation, supported by the DCP, two ACPs, five inspectors, 15 sub inspectors and 53 police personnel.
The police have conducted rowdy sheeter counselling, sexual harasser counselling, took oaths from vagabonds and prepared a database. “We used the portable fingerprint identification technology where the suspects were asked to place his thumb/finger impression on the scanner,” said a police officer.
