APSSDC Empowers 1.35 Lakh Youth Through Skill Training

Vishakhapatnam: Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) has trained 12.5 lakh individuals, resulting in 1.35 lakh people finding employment so far.

Government adviser (Skill Training & Job Fairs) Gadi Sridhar Reddy said as per the vision of Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, APSSDC has helped establish 26 skill colleges and 192 skill hubs across the state. These are helping unemployed youth acquire skills that can transform their lives by finding employment or getting self-employed.

Sridhar explained that the academic department has conducted 2,40,979 training sessions, benefiting 1,35,184 individuals. Additionally, 10,81,927 students have enrolled for academics.

The government adviser said collective efforts have resulted in creation of numerous opportunities, with 66,125 people trained between 2019 and 2024. During the academic year 2023-–024, 17,242 people have specialised in iron and steel industry skills.

Thanks to training skills provided by APSSDC, Vanidurga from Narsipatnam is a supervisor at Amazon. Tirupatamma and Ganesh found new career paths in retail and sales. Impact extends beyond urban areas, as exemplified by Mahesh Kumar and Dandi Ashok Kumar, who are excelling as program developers and team leaders.

Even the rural sector has witnessed prosperity, with talents like M. Dhanalakshmi from Anakapalli finding a rewarding career in HR.

Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, Dhanalakshmi emphasised, "Getting trained has been the biggest decision of my life. Choosing a training company is crucial to breaking barriers and pursuing a long-term career."
